From the ReformNY Blog:
Thanks to Bo Lipari, we've got a preliminary list of county choices of voting machines here. The long and the short:
NYC chooses the ES&S Automark; Albany, Schenectady and Rockland choose the Premier (formerly known as Diebold) Automark; Almost all other counties chose the Sequoia ImageCast.
Only one county, Hamilton (which may be the smallest in the State), has chosen the full-face LibertyVote DRE.
Bottom
line: if counties get their first choice, it looks very likely that
almost all voters in New York (with the exception of those poor souls
in Hamilton County) will be voting on paper ballots -- and not
full-face touch screen machines -- in 2009.
